Stephanie's Nerd Rage

It was disappointing to see a friend rage at me because of her DotA death, and failed kill. It would still be somewhat acceptable albeit deplorable if I were indeed at fault in a pub game, but Kelvin, Steph and I were up against 3 -ap Insane AI which should not be taken so seriously and I am adamant that this one has nothing to do with me.



In the end, she gave some, but couldn't take any, and left the game. I tried to rectify the situation in MSN and see if she had any constructive criticism to give:

I had great reservations accepting her interest, but with things like this it's no wonder I couldn't accept her. Fuck me.

Insomnia

Fell asleep at about 9pm, and woke up at 11pm because of mosquito bites. Not the best way to prepare myself for Monday. I really, really need to start sleeping. Hope to fall asleep by 2.30am later.

Chalet

Steph and HT seem very excited about the chalet cum BBQ next Thursday. I'm nonchalant about the whole thing, from the planning stage to probably the day (Saturday) we buy the utensils and frozen food. I almost feel guilty about it, because it seems like I'm supposed to play a bigger role in all of this.

But I just don't really care..

Somehow or rather I get this sneaky suspcion that HT likes Stephanie. No evidence as of yet, but my gut feeling tells me this based on conversations.

God and Man

Just wondering, if god created this world and were so wise, why did he ask man to spread his teachings?

First DotA Game In 1 And A Half Weeks

Didn't do too badly, although rust has obviously settled into my Morphling. In my defence, Morphling comprises mainly of water... Could have gotten a few kills if I were sharper and ended the game a bit earlier. I was hoping the game would end earlier because my McSpicy and Shaker Fries were waiting for me downstairs. I am feeling positive about the new spin they've done on the Shaker Fries. It tastes a bit like Calbee Hot and Spicy chips, except it seems to have less paparika and more chilli instead.

Based on that 1 game, Steph seems much more aggressive in DotA now. I always felt she was a bit too pensive in her play. Instead, we could have gotten at least 1 kill if I had joined her in the attack.

Interestingly, she sounded almost spiteful just before the game, when I asked her which hero she would like to use to take revenge after my Morphling killed her RK twice.

Selling Uncharted 2

I've finally decided to sell my copy of Uncharted 2, at a cost of $55. In fact, it was reserved on Game Axis within an hour of me posting my sale.

Uncharted 2 is a great game, so great that:

Its value has dropped by only $5 over the past 3 months.
I bothered getting a platinum for it.
It's won many Game Of The Year awards.

I'm just thinking if this is what I'll do in future, selling games that I've completed/have no more interest in. It seems like the smarter thing to do, instead of letting dust gather on the cover.

Now, if only someone would bother buying Uncharted from me for $30....

Bad Company 2 disses MW2

FIFA 10 and my sister

For some reason she kind of likes the game. We spent 45 minutes last night playing on the same team where she scored this scorcher.

Even on semi-pro that's not an easy goal. Of course, the goal was aided by a terrific visionary through-ball by none other than yours truly.

Noob Blanka Flowchart

To be fair, everyone has a flowchart on how to play their own characters. For example, Stephanie's would be to mash l.k for chun-li no matter what happens. Now that would be a much simpler and easier to follow flowchart than this.

I can't guarantee you wins with it though.

Zangief

I've always been quite fascinated by Zangief, with him being a wrestler and having cool grappling moves, but never bothered learning how to use him. Now I remember why.

As a kid, I could never pull off his moves because they required a 270degree rotation. On a PC keyboard that's ridiculous to pull off. On a controller, it is achievable. However, now, with the invention of Ultras and Supers, I once again am having problems with this mean Russian beast. I can't consistently pull them off because they require a 720degree rotation. Other than the one time I managed to pull it off in 15-20mins of gaming with Zangief, I mostly ended up doing this:
























Thus, my thumb has decided to tap out for the day..

P.S. I wasn't taking the piss when I was talking about oats earlier. I've just had my oatmeal.

Recruit Express

Has anyone encountered a recruitment agency less dire than Recruit Express? I haven't. Once again, they've proven to me what a rubbish agency they are. Had a call in the morning from them, so called back at about 1.30pm the moment I woke up. Gave my name, but none of the agents said they called me. Nonsense.

Anyway, found out later on at 2pm that it was most likely Eugene Lee who called. Awkwardly, got a call at 1.45pm from the same number but when I picked up, the line was dead, so I called back again. Was told that Eugene has already left the office, and that no one said they called me. Frustrating.

Called back a third time wondering if it could have been an Elayne Soon. Shouldn't have fucking wasted my time. Got told by someone sounding more senior that Eugene left the COMPANY yesterday, and they have no idea who called me then. Spectacularly shit.

I'm Popeye the sailorman...

Managed to wake up before 2pm today despite only falling asleep at around 6.30am. Dad told me there's pizza for lunch, which probably aided my consciousness. Ended up only eating the garlic bread and a thin slice of the SPINACH pizza.





























Unless it gives me super powers like Popeye, I'm not finishing that up. Seems like my dad is taking my vegetarian talk a bit too seriously. I had an orange and a pessimon to fight the hunger. Might have oatmeal for teabreak to complete this healthy diet streak which will have lasted 6 hours, which is when dinner will be served...

Bad job day

Right. Only managed to sleep at 10am today because I just couldn't fall asleep. Was listening to The Ricky Gervais Show instead and heard something absolutely ridiculous from Karl Pilkington. It goes something like: "What's the point of a jellyfish? They're made out of 97% water anyway, why not just give them another 3% and make them more useful."

Printer's spoilt too, that sucks. Mum wanted me to help her print something this morning at about 8.30, but I couldn't get it to work. Must have been due to the fact that I tampered with the original toner the other time to add that solid powder-ish ink into it. I wonder if it's used to make roads, because the stains are equally difficult to wash off.

Woke up at 5.30pm, skipped lunch obviously, and went to JobsDB and Jobstreet. Bloody disappointed. Only found 1 job which I could send my resume too. People may think that I'm being fussy, but the fact is that there just haven't been enough jobs out there recently that's entry level and is an executive position.

Battlefield Bad Company 2

Right. I've just finished up the 1st 3 missions. What a fantastic game. The game's like Crysis - except it's more linear and it's actually fun. The particle effects really are quite spectacular and affects combat realistically. I've never felt this orgasmic shooting a virtual gun before, not since Counter-strike. I'm just imagining if I were playing the game on a 5.1 surround sound system. Immense.

The end of the 2nd mission was just so intense. I was like a crazy monkey running to and fro for cover because everything was just crumbling around me. I'm wondering if that could be used as a metaphor for myself at this present state I'm in.

On 2nd thoughts, not really. Because, unlike the crazy monkey, I'm more like a hippo(potamus) soaking in water while a tsunami's coming in.

I've just cheated there. The word hippopotamus always gets to me. Had to google it up. This reminds me of hippo and friends. God what an ugly and gawdy purple hippo that was.
